1997-1999年先后在夏威夷大学和加州大学旧金山分校做博士后研究
2000-2009年在中国科学院神经科学研究所先后任研究员、神经科学国家重点实验室主任、副所长
任《Neuroscience Bulletin》主编，《Journal of Neurophysiology》、《Glia》、《Hippocampus》、《Neurobiology of Disease》等国际神经科学杂志编委。
